Volonic was founded in 2020 by the founder of Mophie, it is the first luxury-focused consumer electronics company and Its first product is the Valet 3, a premium wireless charging station that possibly costs as much as the smartphone you are reading this on. $RRP for the Valet 3 ranges between US$585/HK$4500 and $1200/HK$9400.
The brand believes that the products we use should be a reflection of each individual. To inspire the best we see in everyone, They spared no expense to develop solutions that are just as beautiful and stylish on the outside, as they are innovative and sophisticated on the inside.
I know what you are already thinking. a wireless charging station that costs up to ten times the price of other mass ‘competitor’ products on the market. But why? the reality is there is no other product on the market quite like the Valet 3. A fully customisable power charging pad with the latest technology and premium materials including, anodized aluminum, Alcantara, and Nappa leather (there are even two special leathers that come from Lamborghini).
Essentially a sleek “made to measure” product, designed in the US, with the quality components assembled in Taiwan. Besides the custom option, the Valet 3 is also offered in a few ready-made configurations if you are seeking inspiration from their design team. however, given the hefty price tag, you may wish to indulge in the creative process to personalise yours.
Custom Design
CUSTOM DESIGN
Using Volonics intuitive online custom design configurator which is very much like the experience when you specify a new luxury sports car. First, you select the frame material (Aluminium or Grand Piano), the frame colour, the logo treatment. the charging top material & colour (genuine Nappa leather or Alcantara), the feet style, and then the wall charger & cable specifications to complete your unique design.
For my design, I opted for a stealth example. Black anodized frame, gunmetal grey logo, a matte finish black prima Nappa leather, diamond legs, a black 36W USB-C wall charger, and a matching black nylon cable.
Volonic’s attention to detail is unmatched, even down to the packaging, the unboxing experience is on point and perhaps similar to that when you unbox an expensive timepiece. The USB-Type-C charging cables also receive the same level of attention and are soft braided nylon with an aluminum housing, supporting up to 3 Amps of fast charging speeds and 480MBs of data speeds. Not only can you specify the colour of your cable to match the body of your design, but even the desired cable length (30cm/90cm/180cm/300cm).
If the online configurator does not completely satisfy your creativity or vision, Volonic also offers a bespoke service to create one-off designs, including carbon fibre and gold plating finishes along with the rarest and most luxurious fabrics/materials. They once commissioned a yellow gold plated unit using the Golden Fleece of the Andes; Vicuña Wool (see here) selling for a cool US$250,000 /HK$1,950,000.
TECHNOLOGY
With a body less than 6mm thick, a matrix of 18 Qi coils, and 80+ patentable innovations.
