Frama is a multi-disciplinary design brand that creates lifestyle objects that inspire the senses and encourage mindful living. With an emphasis on natural materials, simple geometries, and uncompromising quality, Frama’s work connects the imaginative with the practical, resulting in a uniquely warm and honest aesthetic.
Since the launch of our first collection in 2011, Frama has embraced an organic and collaborative approach to design; an approach that is equally inspired by the old and the new, by digital technologies and analog traditions. Frama’s naturalistic, hands-on approach to design and production has allowed the brand to create a unified aesthetic across a growing range of product collections, including furniture, lighting, home objects, candles, fabrics, apothecary, books, and kitchens.
After admiring their beautiful ceramics over the years, I finally decided it was time to replace my existing dinnerware with a set from Frama. I went with a set of large plates, small plates, and coffee mugs, The collection also includes bowls, mugs, cups, and jugs in two size variants. Three glazing variants (White, Black, and Natural) are available however, it was an easy decision for me and I went with the white glaze of course.
The handmade ceramics are of high quality, the clay has a nice weight, the combination of glazed and unglazed surfaces offer a nice tactile feel every time you pick them up them. Stoneware is well known for its high strength and durability, so if you look after them, they are guaranteed to last many years to come. Each piece is handcrafted and unique and the handmade nature of Framas ceramics, small irregularities, varying shapes, or slight differences in the glaze is to be expected. The ceramics are dishwasher safe and can handle heat up to 200°C.
I very much share the same philosophy as Frama in living a conscious lifestyle and allowing the objects in your space that inspire your senses whilst encouraging a more mindful way of expression and living.
The Otto collection from Frama is a perfect dinnerware composition for setting up a casual lunch or dinner with your friends and dear ones. Use the small plates for serving a starter, or a dessert after enjoying the main course on the larger plates, the mugs are perfect for fresh juice, tea or coffee. The Otto Collection sets a minimalistic scene to indulge in both cuisine and conversations. The handcrafted stoneware is strong and durable, composing timeless shapes in a delicate glaze. Each article carries particularities significant to each and every one.
